Naperville’s New Frontier Park

Frontier Park at 3380 Cedar Glade Dr, Naperville’s Frontier Sports Complex is an amazing spot for the entire family to visit in Naperville. It includes playground equipment, ball fields, bocce & amp; skate park as well as picnicking areas and trails – located behind Neuqua Valley High School near Frontier Campus.

Location: West side of the city This new park features synthetic turf in its playground area, restroom building and pavilion for restroom use and an inclusive game area featuring a ping-pong table, baggo net, and relocated Gaga pit in its southwest corner. Furthermore, there is a shade structure and central garden as well as a wheelchair-accessible section featuring a ground-level merry-go-round that includes equipment designed to meet the needs for children aged 5-12 years old – it was even featured in our Inclusive Playgrounds article!

Summer brings lots of visitors to this gorgeous playground near Laidlaw Elementary, including children and their parents looking for fun things to spin, climb and slide on. Completed in 2021 with a rubbery surface and two different sections designed to meet children of various ages’ needs (friend swing, expression swing as well as permanent games like chess and bags) it offers great play value!

Each year, approximately 7,500 visitors flock to Frontier Sports Complex for the Naperville Salute Festival, an event to honor veterans, active military, first responders, and their families as well as offering food, beer, and live entertainment – not to mention fireworks displays!

The 16th Annual Frontier Kite Fly, presented by The Branch-Naperville Moms is set for Sunday, June 4. Bringing incredible kites up to 90 feet long into steady winds at Frontier Sports Complex is something truly breathtaking; participants may bring their own kites or purchase them onsite from Chicago Kite. Additionally, KidsMatter will host “Games From Around the World,” giving children and adults alike an opportunity to learn about other cultures through play. See this course.

On July 4th, Naperville will hold its annual Fourth of July fireworks show at Frontier Sports Complex for free! Beginning at 9:30 p.m., spectators can park in the parking lot or find seating on the field and witness spectacular fireworks that last approximately 30 minutes!

Memorial for Naperville native Commander Dan F. Shanower who died during the Pentagon attack of September 11th, 2001. It serves as a somber tribute with over 140 faces of those lost sculpted into its 48ft retaining wall – serving as an important reminder that freedom doesn’t come cheaply – free to visit while donations are gratefully accepted.
